Alright, let’s gab about this Baldur’s Gate 3 thing, this… BG3, yeah? Folks keep squawkin’ about sides, guilds, and some stone fella. Now, I ain’t no city slicker, but I got a good head on my shoulders, so let me tell ya what I reckon.
So, there’s this beach, right? Near some place called Rivington. And wouldn’t ya know it, two gangs are at it, hammer and tongs. One bunch hollers about followin’ some Nine-Fingers fella, and the others, well, they’re with this Stone Lord. Sounds like a heap of trouble if ya ask me. But that’s how it is in them big cities, always fightin’ over somethin’.
Now, from what I gather, this Nine-Fingers runs somethin’ called the Guild. They’re thieves, but not the real nasty kind, ya know? They kinda work in the shadows, under Baldur’s Gate. Seems they got their own rules and all. Then there’s this Zhentarim, and that Stone Lord fella, they’re a bit more…rough around the edges, if ya catch my drift. More like the bandits I used to hear about when I was a young’un.
- Guild with Nine-Fingers: They say these folks ain’t so bad, for thieves anyway. Maybe like the fella who stole a loaf of bread to feed his kids, not the one who’d rob ya blind and leave ya for dead.
- Zhentarim with Stone Lord: Now these fellas, they sound like trouble. Always lookin’ for a fight and stealin’ whatever ain’t nailed down. And from what I hear, they don’t care who they hurt.
Now, some folks online, they say you gotta choose a side. Guild or Stone Lord. But it ain’t always that simple, is it? Life’s not black and white, it’s more like a muddy puddle, all mixed up and hard to see through. Some say you can’t even side with the Stone Lord, that there’s a big fight later on anyway. Guild versus Zhents, they call it. Sounds like a real barn burner.
From what the youngsters are yappin’ about on that inter-web thingy, stickin’ with the Guild is the better way to go. Especially if you want a good endin’ to your story. And they say somethin’ about keepin’ a fella named Minsc alive, ’cause he’s important to some lady named Jaheira and her Harper friends. Sounds complicated, like one of them fancy knots my grandson tries to tie.
Now, if you go with the Stone Lord, it seems like you get all the loot on a ship and around it. But then everyone on the beach turns on ya. That don’t sound too smart to me. Better to have some friends, even if they are thieves, than to be all alone with a pile of gold and a whole lot of enemies.
And get this, they say it’s best not to let this Minsc fella talk to Nine-Fingers, or there’ll be another fight. And you gotta talk Minsc outta startin’ trouble. Lands sakes, it’s like herding chickens! Always somethin’ to fuss about.
So, in my book, it seems like siding with the Guild is the way to go. Less trouble, a better endin’, and you got some folks watchin’ your back. This Stone Lord business, well, it just sounds like a whole heap of hurt and heartache. You know what they say, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. Stick with the folks ya know, even if they are a little crooked. At least they ain’t tryin’ to slit your throat every five minutes.
But then again, I’m just an old woman. What do I know about these fancy city games? Still, common sense is common sense, no matter where you are. And my common sense tells me to stay away from the Stone Lord and stick with the Guild. That’s my two cents, anyway. You can take it or leave it.
