Alright, let’s talk about this Hive Frontier FTL thing, whatever that means. Folks keep jabberin’ about it, so I figured I’d give it a look-see.

Now, they say it’s a game, like them things the young’uns play. Costs money, too, but some say it’s worth every penny. Ten bucks, they say. Ain’t that somethin’? Ten whole dollars for somethin’ you can’t even hold in your hand. But I hear tell it’s a good buy, even if you gotta wait for that summer sale thingy. They say it’s jam-packed with all sorts of stuff. Strategy, like plannin’ your crops, I guess. And space sim, which sounds like lookin’ at stars, which I do plenty of already, thank you very much.

Then there’s management, which sounds like bossin’ people around, which I’m good at, ha! And text adventure, which I reckon is like readin’ a book but with more clickin’. And this “roguelike” thing… Beats me what that is. Sounds dangerous, like them snakes in the back forty.

  • Strategy: Plannin’ stuff, like where to put the corn next year.
  • Space Sim: Lookin’ at stars, which is free outside, mind you.
  • Management: Bossin’ folks around, makin’ sure they do their chores.
  • Text Adventure: Readin’ but with more clickin’, like them fancy books the grandkids got.
  • Roguelike: No idea, but it sounds like trouble.

This game, it came out a long time ago, they say. Back in 2012. Folks been playin’ it ever since, which means it must be somethin’ special, I reckon. They even made it work on them tablet things, which are like fancy slates you can write on but they glow. Imagine that!

Now, from what I gather, you get to control a spaceship. And in this spaceship, you got a crew. You can even beam your crew onto other ships, like them fellas in Star Track or somethin’. And you got drones, little flyin’ robots that fix your ship or fight for you. Sounds like a lot of work, if you ask me. I got enough work tendin’ to the chickens and the garden.

And the fightin’! They say you can control people’s minds in this game. Make ‘em do what you want. Creepy, ain’t it? And them drones, they’re tough little buggers, stronger than you’d think. You can even choose how you wanna fight. Blast ‘em with big ol’ weapons or get in close with your crew. Choices, choices.

This game, it ain’t easy, from what I hear. Some folks say you can’t win every time. But if you know what you’re doin’ and you work hard, you can beat it most of the time. And it takes a while to finish, they say. Twelve hours or so. That’s a whole lotta time spent starin’ at that glowin’ screen. Me, I’d rather be outside, feelin’ the sun on my face.

So, is it worth it? Well, I dunno. I ain’t played it myself. But folks seem to like it a lot. They say it’s impressive, especially now that it’s on them tablets. And it’s only ten bucks, which ain’t much these days, I guess. If you like all that strategy and space stuff, maybe you’ll enjoy it. But me? I’ll stick to my chickens and my garden. That’s enough adventure for this old lady.

But hey, if you got nothin’ better to do and ten bucks burnin’ a hole in your pocket, give it a whirl. Just don’t blame me if you end up losin’ all your time to that there glowin’ screen.

It’s all about choices in this game, just like life, I guess. You choose what to do, how to fight, and what to focus on. And sometimes, you win, and sometimes, you lose. That’s just the way it is, ain’t it?

And remember, kids, hard work and knowin’ what you’re doing is important in this game, just like it is in life. So pay attention and learn all you can. That’s the key to success, whether you’re flyin’ a spaceship or just tendin’ to your chickens.
