Alright, alright, let’s talk about this Rogue Trader Theobald or Felek thing, eh? It’s like choosing between a rock and a hard place, you know? Both of ’em sound like trouble, if you ask me.
Now, I hear tell there’s this Theobald fella. Folks say he’s alright, maybe, but then this Rykad System is goin’ down the drain. Sun’s gettin’ stolen, like someone just up and took it! Makes no sense, but that’s what they say. And if that ain’t bad enough, seems like even Evayne’s shuttle just vanishes from your hangar. Poof! Gone. Like a fart in the wind.
Then there’s this Felek character. Him and Theobald, they tried to play nice, tried to work things out. But, you know how it is with some folks, can’t ever agree on nothin’. So, Felek, he decides he wants to be the big boss, tries to grab all the power for himself. And you, well, you just stumble right into the middle of it. Just your luck, ain’t it?
I also heard a story ’bout three friends, stranded on some dead world. Nothin’ growin’, nothin’ livin’, just rocks and dust. And then, wouldn’t you know it, these nasty xenos show up and drive ’em right into a trap. Now they’re lookin’ to this Rogue Trader to save ’em. Gotta go to this Nolla Septum place, sounds dangerous to me. But hey, that’s what these Rogue Traders do, right? Fly around, gettin’ into trouble.
- It seems like this whole Rogue Trader business is about makin’ choices. Who you gonna side with? Who you gonna trust? It ain’t easy, let me tell ya. From the moment you start, you gotta pick your origin, gotta pick your buddies for fightin’ and tradin’.
- And one of the first things you gotta decide is who’s side you’re on: Theobald’s or Felek’s.
Now, some folks say if you wanna fight Felek, then Theobald’s your man. He’ll help you, they say. But this Felek, he sounds like a snake in the grass. Just waitin’ for the right moment to stick a knife in your back, even if you’re the Rogue Trader. Can’t trust a fella like that, no sir.
I heard tell of this Nick Leeson fella, a real rogue trader he was. Made such a mess of things, lost so much money on investments nobody told him to make, that he bankrupted the whole darn Barings Bank back in ’95. See? Trouble, I tell ya! These rogue traders, they can be a real headache.
And wouldn’t you believe it, they even got romance in this here Rogue Trader thing. Love and war, I guess. Never understood it myself, but there it is. In the middle of all this fightin’ and tradin’, folks findin’ time to smooch. Goes to show, even in the darkest of times, folks still lookin’ for a little bit of somethin’ good.
So, who you gonna choose? Theobald or Felek? It ain’t an easy choice, that’s for sure. But you gotta think hard, gotta use your noggin. ‘Cause one wrong move, and you could end up in a whole heap of trouble. Just like that Nick Leeson fella. Or worse.
It all boils down to who you trust, who you think can get the job done. And who you think is less likely to stab you in the back. Good luck with that, ’cause in my experience, trustin’ folks is a risky business.
But hey, that’s what makes life interestin’, ain’t it? The choices we make, the paths we choose. They shape who we are, and what we become. So choose wisely, my friend. Choose wisely.
