Alright, let’s talk about this… uh… ancient circlet thingy in Octopath 2. I ain’t no fancy gamer, ya know? I just play when I got nothin’ else to do, like when the chickens are done fed and the garden’s watered. But this thing, it got me thinkin’.
First off, what’s the deal with all these numbers and stats? Strength this, Defense that. Back in my day, strength was how many buckets of water you could carry, and defense was a good ol’ fence around your property! But these young’uns, they got all this magic stuff. Fire storms and whatnot. One fella, Osvald I think his name was, he throws these fireballs that do, like, 4000 damage. That’s a whole lotta chickens burnt up, let me tell ya! And shields? What’s that about? Sounds like somethin’ the knights used to carry, not some magic shield blocking a fireball.
Anyways, this circlet. People say it boosts your stats. Like, makes you tougher or smarter or somethin’. They got numbers for everything. , that’s like magic defense I guess. 896 or 911, they say. Honestly, I can’t tell the difference. Seems like a whole lotta fuss over a few numbers. Once you get strong enough, it don’t matter much. Like when you’re old and seen it all, a few bumps and bruises ain’t gonna stop ya.
- One thing I did figure out, though, is that some things you can sell. And that Partitio fella, he can get you more money for ’em. Smart fella, that one. Reminds me of old Mr. Henderson down at the market, always knew how to squeeze every penny outta ya.
- And then there’s this “boostin’” thing. You can make your friends stronger, or smarter. Like, you got your smarty-pants scholar, givin’ wisdom to the fighter. Kinda like how we used to share our harvest with the neighbors, everyone gets a little bit stronger that way.
Now, let’s talk about damage. They got these big numbers, 6000, 7000, even 99,999! That’s a whole lotta hurt. I remember when a good punch in the nose was enough to settle a fight. Now they got these fancy spells and whatnot. They say the most you can do in one hit is 99,999. Seems a bit excessive, if you ask me. What ya need to hit somethin’ that hard for?
And there’s this big ol’ boss, Galdera I think they called him. Hardest fight in the whole game, they say. Ten times harder than anything else. You gotta be level 55, at least, to even think about fightin’ him. That’s like sayin’ you gotta be strong enough to wrestle a bear before you can go pick berries. And he swallows your friends! Can you imagine? Just gulps ’em right down. Reminds me of that time Bessy the cow ate my whole hat. Took me a week to get it back.
You can’t even get to this Galdera fella until you learn how to sail. Which is a whole ‘nother story. Reminds me of when my grandpa used to tell stories about sailing across the ocean to the new world. Took him months, he said. But these young’uns, they do it in a blink of an eye, just like that snap. All this magic and technology, it’s somethin’ else.
So, this ancient circlet… it’s just a small part of this big, complicated game. Lots of numbers, lots of stats, lots of fightin’. But at the end of the day, it’s all about gettin’ stronger, helpin’ your friends, and beatin’ the bad guys. Kinda like life, I guess. Just with more fireballs and less chickens.
And don’t forget to sell those useless items you find, but find someone who knows a good price to get the most value for it! Just like selling your eggs at a good market.
