Well now, let me tell ya, them fancy cartoons, the ones the youngsters call “anime,” they got all sorts of things in ’em. And wouldn’t ya know it, some of ’em even got them loud, rumblin’ motorcycles!

I ain’t never ridden one myself, mind you. Too old for that kind of foolishness. But I seen ’em on the roads, and them youngsters, they sure do love them things. Zoomin’ around like bees on a hot summer day.

So, these here “anime” shows, they got stories about all kinds of stuff, and motorcycles is just one of ’em. I heard tell of one called “Bakuon!!“. Now, that one, it ain’t just got motorcycles in it, it’s about motorcycles, ya hear? It’s about them Japanese school girls, little whippersnappers they are, and they’re all into ridin’. Can ya believe it? Girls on motorcycles! Times sure have changed. They say it’s even got some kinda “feminist” message, whatever that means. All I know is, them girls seem to be havin’ a good time, and that’s what matters, I reckon.

• Then there’s these other shows with bikers in ’em. Like this fella named Courier. Sounds mysterious, don’t he? And a gal named Reiko and another one called Ginza. All sorts of different folks, ridin’ around on them loud machines. Each got their own story, I guess. Makes for good watchin’, so they tell me.
• And there’s this one called “Idaten Jump“. Now that’s a mouthful, ain’t it? It’s about them young’uns racin’ bikes. Not the kind with motors, though. The kind ya gotta pedal yourself. Still, it’s about bikes, so it counts, right? This young fella, Sho Yamato, he’s got a special bike, calls it “Endorphin.” Sounds fancy. He’s racin’ in somethin’ called “Circuit Races.” Sounds like a whole lotta hoopla to me.

Another one they talk about is “Yowamushi Pedal“. Another long name, them Japanese sure do like their long names. This one’s about pedalin’ too, just like that “Idaten Jump” fella. Guess them youngsters got a lot of energy to burn, pedalin’ all over the place.

Now, there’s this other one, a real old one, they say. Called “Akira.” This ain’t no happy-go-lucky story, though. It’s about somethin’ blowin’ up in Tokyo. And I reckon there’s motorcycles in it too. But it sounds like a sad story, all that destruction and whatnot. Not my cup of tea, if ya ask me.

So, ya see, them “anime” shows, they got all sorts of things. And if you like them motorcycles, well, there’s plenty of shows for ya. From them school girls in “Bakuon!!” to them racers in “Idaten Jump” and “Yowamushi Pedal,” and even that sad story in “Akira.” They got it all. Just gotta find the ones ya like, I guess. And if ya don’t like motorcycles, well, there’s plenty of other shows out there too. Them youngsters, they make cartoons about everything these days. Can’t hardly keep up, I tell ya.

So there you have it, a whole bunch of them “anime” shows about motorcycles, or with motorcycles in ’em. Enough to keep ya busy for a good long while, I reckon. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about motorcycles has made me hungry.
