Alright, so you wanna know about this BG3 Rat Gauntlet of Shar, huh? Let me tell ya, it ain’t pretty, but it ain’t too hard neither once you get the hang of it. It’s like tryin’ to catch a greased pig, that’s what it is.
First off, you gotta find this place. It’s in some temple, a big ol’ spooky place dedicated to this Shar lady, whoever she is. Sounds like trouble to me, always messin’ with these powerful folks. Anyways, you go in there, and there’s all sorts of traps and puzzles. This Shar, she likes her games, I tell ya. Makes me think of my grandpappy’s old barn, always somethin’ fallin’ apart or tryin’ to bite ya.
Now, about them rats. Yeah, rats. Big ones, little ones, all kinda creepy crawlin’ things. They say these rats are the last guards, or “Justiciars” as them fancy folks call ’em. Guardin’ what? I dunno, some statue or somethin’. You gotta kill ’em, or they’ll just run off, and you’ll be chasin’ your tail all day.
- Kill the rats.
- They run to a statue.
- Follow them.
Once you kill the rats, you gotta follow ’em. They run to this big statue of Shar, right in the middle of the place. There’s rocks and stuff, you gotta climb down to get to the bottom. Be careful, wouldn’t want ya fallin’ and breakin’ your neck. Then, you’ll see this circle thing, a ritual circle they call it. Lots of fancy words for somethin’ simple, if you ask me.
At that circle, there’s a bunch of junk and one of them rats is hidin’ there. You gotta find it and mess with the stuff around there. It’s like lookin’ for eggs in the henhouse, gotta be quick and sneaky. After that, the real fun begins. There’s this puzzle, see? Four rooms, each with a lever. You gotta pull them levers, but it ain’t that easy.
Each room’s got a trap, a big ol’ marble plate thing that’ll smack ya if you ain’t careful. And there’s these vents too, blowin’ out who knows what. You gotta watch your step, or you’ll be in a world of hurt. My old man always said, “Watch your feet, and you’ll watch your life.” He was a smart fella, even if he did smell like manure half the time.
Disarm the traps, avoid the vents, and pull them levers. That’s the ticket. It’s like milkin’ a cow, gotta do it just right, or you’ll get a kick in the pants. If you mess up, the trap goes off, and you gotta start all over again. Pain in the rear, if you ask me. But you keep at it, and you’ll get it done. Just like churnin’ butter, takes time but you get somethin’ good at the end.
They say there’s some kind of altar in this place too, dedicated to Shar. And some fella named Balthazar hanging around. Sounds like more trouble to me. These temples are always full of secrets and dangerous people. Makes me glad I live in a quiet little place, even if it is a bit dusty and the roof leaks sometimes.
So that’s the Rat Gauntlet of Shar, or at least as much as I can make sense of it. Kill the rats, follow ’em, find the circle, solve the puzzle. Sounds easy when you say it fast, but trust me, it ain’t. You gotta keep your wits about ya, and watch out for them traps. And them rats too. Nasty little critters, they are. Just like the ones that used to get in my pantry. Had to set traps and everything, what a mess. Good luck to ya, you’ll need it.
And one more thing, always bring a good stick with ya. You never know what kinda creatures you’ll run into in these places. A good stick is like a good friend, always there to help you out of a scrape. That’s what my pappy used to say, anyway.
