Well, let me tell ya ’bout this Alan Wake 2 game, seems like everyone’s jabberin’ ’bout it. I ain’t no fancy gamer, but I hear things, ya know? Folks are sayin’ it’s a real humdinger, spooky and all.
Now, they got two ways you can get this game, see? One’s called the Standard Edition, just the game, plain and simple. Costs ya around fifty bucks, give or take, dependin’ on where ya buy it. Heard tell it’s cheaper on that “Epic Games” thingy, whatever that is. On them PlayStations and Xboxes, it’s a bit more, closer to sixty dollars. That’s a pretty penny, I tell ya.
- Standard Edition: Just the game, nothin’ fancy.
Then there’s this other one, the Deluxe Edition. This one’s got all the bells and whistles, or so they say. Costs more, of course. They say it’s got somethin’ called an “Expansion Pass,” which means you get more stuff later on, like new places to go and things to do in the game. Night Springs and Lake House, they call ’em. Sounds like fancy vacation spots to me.
And they give ya some extra clothes and guns in the Deluxe too. A “Nordic Shotgun” for that Saga gal, a red jacket, and some fancy suit for Alan. Another shotgun for him too, and a little charm thingy for Saga’s bag. All sorts of gewgaws, if you ask me. They even throw in that old Alan Wake game, remastered, like they fixed it up all nice. But honestly, all that extra stuff, I ain’t so sure it’s worth the extra money.
- Deluxe Edition: Game plus extra stuff, costs more.
- Expansion Pass (Night Springs and Lake House)
- Extra clothes and guns (Nordic Shotgun, Crimson Windbreaker, Celebrity Suit, Parliament Shotgun, Lantern Charm)
- Alan Wake Remastered (that old game, fixed up)
Now, some folks say you gotta play that first Alan Wake game to understand this new one. And then there’s this other game called “Control” they say is connected somehow. It’s all a bit confusing if you ask me. Like one of them soap operas on the TV, always twistin’ and turnin’.
But from what I gather, this Alan Wake 2 is a real looker. Needs a good computer to run it though, somethin’ with a fancy “video card,” whatever that is. They talk about “RTX” this and “Radeon” that, all sounds like gibberish to me. Just make sure your machine ain’t too old, or it might not run right.
So, should ya buy it? Well, that’s up to you. If you just wanna play the game, the Standard Edition is probably fine. Don’t go wastin’ your money on that fancy Deluxe stuff unless you really want it. Some folks say it ain’t worth it, a real “ripoff” they call it. If you do want those extra bits, maybe just buy the “Expansion Pass” later on when it goes on sale.
Me? I reckon I’ll stick to watchin’ the birds and feedin’ the chickens. All this fancy game stuff is too much for my old head. But if you’re into them spooky stories and have the money to spare, go ahead and give it a whirl. Just don’t blame me if it gives ya nightmares!
One last thing, the game came out October 27, 2023. Some folks are really happy with it. They say it’s great and all. And the deluxe edition is not worth the money. If you want to play the expansions just buy the expansion pass when it goes on sale. So, you can decide if you want to buy it or not.
