Well, let’s talk about them monk robes in that Baldur’s Gate 3 game, you know, the BG3. I heard some young folks yappin’ about it, and I figured I’d chime in with what I know, even if I don’t know much about these fancy computer games. But I know clothes, and I know what keeps you safe, so here we go.
What kind of clothes them monks can wear?
Now, them monks, they ain’t like them knights in shinin’ armor. They can’t wear all that heavy metal stuff. It’d slow ’em down somethin’ fierce, I reckon. They need to be able to move quick, like a cat on a hot tin roof. So, they wear robes, mostly. But not just any robes, mind you. Special robes, with magic and stuff.
They can wear rings, like that Ring of Protection, sounds fancy, huh? And bracers, cloaks, belts, boots, and necklaces, too. All sorts of things to keep ’em safe and sound. But no chest armor and no shields. Nope. Too heavy, I guess. Gotta stay light on their feet, them monks.
- Can’t wear: Chest armor, Shields
- Can wear: Rings, Bracers, Cloaks, Belts, Boots, Necklaces, Robes
Best monk robes, you say?
Now, from what I hear, there’s this Vest of Soul Rejuvenation, sounds mighty powerful. It helps you stay alive, see? If someone tries to cast a spell on you, and you dodge it, well, this vest gives you some health back. Like magic mendin’ your clothes after a tumble in the hay, only better! Keeps you goin’ strong.
Then there’s this Graceful Cloth. It makes you quicker, more nimble. Like a squirrel dodgin’ a hawk. Good for monks who ain’t all muscle and brawn, see? Them monks that use their brains more than their fists. Smart ones, they are.
Another good one is the Infernal Robe. Sounds scary, don’t it? Infernal. But I bet it’s powerful, keeps you warm in the winter, too, maybe? I don’t know nothing about no “Infernal”. But it sounds strong like bear, maybe better!
And there’s them Boots of Uninhibited Kushigo. Now that’s a mouthful! These boots, they make your punches stronger, if you’re a smart monk. Seems kinda backwards, but that’s what them young folks told me. Brains makin’ your fists hit harder. Go figure.
Why monks can’t wear all that armor?
Well, like I said, it slows ’em down. Monks are all about movin’ fast, hittin’ hard, and gettin’ out of the way. Can’t do that with a bunch of metal clankin’ around. It’s like tryin’ to run a race in your grandma’s Sunday best. Just ain’t gonna work. Plus, them monks, they got their own way of protectin’ themselves. Magic, and dodgin’, and stuff. They are sneaky like fox in chicken barn!
So, what should a monk wear then?
Well, if you ask me, it depends on what kind of monk you are. If you like dodging and weaving get that Graceful Cloth. If you like being tough and hard to kill, get that Vest of Soul Rejuvenation. If you like punchin’ the soul, I don’t know, but sound like you need that Helldusk Armor. And make sure you got them Boots of Uninhibited Kushigo, whatever that means. Sounds important. And don’t forget a ring or two, and a cloak. Keep you warm, and maybe a little bit safer. And always, always, wear somethin’ that makes you feel strong and confident. That’s the most important thing, I reckon. Like a good pair of overalls, only magic.
Other things for them monks:
I heard of them Gloves of Soul Catching too. Sound spooky! Punch the soul? Where that soul go? In the gloves I guess. Probably helps you hit harder or somethin’. Like I said, I don’t know much about these games, but I know about keepin’ warm, keepin’ safe, and keepin’ movin’. And that’s what them monk clothes are all about, seems to me.
So there you have it. My two cents on them monk robes. Hope it helps you young folks out there. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my chickens. Them foxes have been gettin’ awful bold lately…
