Alright, alright, let’s talk about them animes, the ones like that “Lick-or-us Ree-coil,” or whatever that fancy name is. You know, the one with the girls and the guns? Yeah, that one. Folks keep askin’ me, “Hey, what else is out there like that?” Well, lemme tell ya, I ain’t no spring chicken, but I’ve seen a thing or two on that picture box.

First off, if you like them cute girls doin’ serious stuff, there’s this “Hibiki Euphonium” thing. Now, hold yer horses, it ain’t got no guns or shootin’, but it’s got heart, just like that “Lick-or-us” show. It’s about these girls in a school band, playin’ trumpets and tubas and all that jazz. Two main girls, just like the other one, but instead of bullets, they got music. It’s real nice, makes ya feel all warm and fuzzy inside, you know?

Then there’s this other one, “Najica Blitz Tactics“. Now, this one’s got the action you’re lookin’ for. It’s about this lady secret agent, Najica, and she’s kickin’ butt and takin’ names. Guns, explosions, the whole shebang. If you like seein’ a tough gal takin’ care of business, this one’s for you. It ain’t all sunshine and rainbows though, there’s some serious stuff goin’ on.

And if you wanna go a little bit… different… there’s this “Puella Magi Madoka Magica.” Now, this one’s a bit tricky. It starts all cute and girly, with magical girls and sparkly wands, but let me tell ya, it gets dark. Real dark. It ain’t for the faint of heart, that’s for sure. But it’s powerful, makes ya think about things. It’s got that same kinda girl power thing goin’ on, but with a twist.

• Hibiki Euphonium – No guns, but lots of heart and two main girls.
• Najica Blitz Tactics – Secret agent lady, guns, and action galore.
• Puella Magi Madoka Magica – Magical girls, starts cute, gets dark.

Now, some folks, they just like the gun part, you know? The bang-bang, shoot-em-up stuff. Well, there’s plenty of those out there too, but I can’t remember all them names. Too many fancy words for this old brain. But if you go lookin’ around, you’ll find ’em. Just gotta poke around a bit.

And that “Lick-or-us” show, they say there’s more comin’, some short episodes or somethin’. And the comic book ain’t even finished yet! Land sakes, these youngsters and their never-ending stories. And that fella, that Ko-jee-ma guy, he likes the show too? The one who makes them video games? Well, ain’t that somethin’? He even got one of the voice actors from the show to be in his new game. Small world, ain’t it?

So there ya have it. A few shows that might tickle yer fancy if you liked that “Lick-or-us Ree-coil.” Go on, give ’em a try. And if you don’t like ’em, well, that’s yer problem, not mine! I just tell ya what I know, or what I heard tell of, anyway.
