Well, let me tell ya ’bout this here game, Outlast Trials. Folks been playin’ it, that’s for sure. I heard tell there’s a whole bunch of ’em on that Steam thingy.
Now, I ain’t no fancy computer whiz, but they say there’s this “counter” that keeps track of how many folks are playin’ at once. Last I heard, it was showin’ somethin’ like two thousand two hundred and eighteen players, just on that there Steam. Can ya believe it? That’s a whole lotta folks, like a town fair but everyone’s inside lookin’ at screens.
But get this, way back in May, they say there was even more! Like thirty-six thousand six hundred and eighty-nine of ’em all playin’ at the same darn time. That’s like the whole county showin’ up for bingo night! It seems like a lot of people were really into it back then.
And it ain’t just on that Steam thing either. Them folks who made the game, Red Barrels they call themselves, they said two million people have played it on their computers and their Xboxes. Two million! That’s more chickens than I’ve seen in my whole life, I reckon.
- They say you can play with your friends, up to four of ya.
- But if you’re feelin’ brave, you can even go it alone, like a lone wolf.
- You gotta do stuff, like findin’ things and runnin’ from scary monsters. Sounds like a normal day at the farm, ‘cept the monsters are bigger and uglier.
Now, some folks are complainin’ they can’t find other players to play with. They wait and wait, but nothin’ happens. It’s like waitin’ for rain in a drought. They want the game makers to tell ’em how many folks are really playin’, so they know if they’re wastin’ their time.
I heard tell this game is on them Xboxes too. There’s folks playin’ it there, countin’ up how long they play and what kinda things they do in the game. Seems like people everywhere are givin’ it a go.
And it ain’t just a few folks neither. They say almost one percent of all them computer and game console players are playin’ this Outlast Trials. That’s a fair number, considerin’ how many games there are out there. Like pickin’ one corn stalk out of a whole field.
The game makers had a little trouble with somethin’ they called a “security issue,” but they say they fixed it. Like patchin’ up a hole in the chicken coop, keepin’ the foxes out.
They also keep track of how many people own the game and how long they play it on that Steam thing. Just like countin’ the number of eggs your hens lay and how long they keep layin’ ’em.
Now, this game, it changes things around every time you play. The rooms stay the same, but the doors and where you find stuff, that’s different. Keeps ya on your toes, like tryin’ to catch a greased pig.
And if you buy the game, you get some extra stuff, like fancy clothes for your player and pictures to hang up. Like gettin’ a bonus prize at the raffle.
They say over one and a half million folks bought the game when it first came out. That’s a whole lotta money, enough to buy a new tractor and maybe even a combine!
So, there you have it. A whole bunch of folks playin’ this Outlast Trials game, though sometimes it sounds like they have a hard time findin’ each other. But that’s how it goes, sometimes you got a full henhouse, sometimes you’re huntin’ for eggs.
