Alright, let’s talk about this… uh… Astarion thingy, the one they’re makin’ a statue of. My grandson told me about it, said it’s a big deal on the computery thing. He’s always talkin’ ‘bout these games, Baldur’s Gate somethin’ or other. Kids these days, I tell ya!
So, this Astarion fella, he’s from that game, right? And they’re makin’ a figure of him. A big one, too, from what I hear. Now, they’re callin’ it a “preorder,” which, as far as I can tell, means you gotta pay for it now, and then they’ll send it to ya whenever they get around to makin’ it.
My grandson showed me some pictures. Looks fancy, I guess. All pointy ears and whatnot. Reminds me a bit of that vampire fella from the old movies, the one with the cape. Only this Astarion guy has… well, he has a certain look about him. My grandson says he’s a “complex character,” which I reckon means he’s got more problems than a hen with a fox in the henhouse.
- One studio, God Pan Studio, they’re showin’ off their Astarion. Fancy lookin’, I tell ya.
- Then there’s DaKings Studio, they’re makin’ a big one too. Says it’ll be done sometime next year, near the end of it. Says it’s gonna be almost two feet tall! Land sakes, that’s bigger than my prize-winning zucchini!
They’re usin’ all sorts of fancy words to describe it, like “resin” and “PU.” Sounds like somethin’ you’d use to fix a leaky roof, not make a statue. And this “OEKO-TEX” thing? Says it’s safe, like they’re worried you’re gonna chew on it or somethin’. Well, I wouldn’t be chewin’ on it, that’s for sure. Too expensive for that kind of nonsense.
They’re also makin’ all sorts of sizes, it seems. Some big, some small. One fella was talkin’ about one that’s almost 15 inches wide and long! That’s bigger than my dinner plate! And they’re makin’ only 199 of ‘em, which I guess makes ‘em special. Like those fancy plates they sell at the town fair, only these are… well, vampire fellas.
Now, about this “preorder” thing again. Seems kinda risky to me. You’re givin’ ‘em your money, and then you just gotta wait. Like plantin’ seeds and hopin’ for rain. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it don’t. And these things ain’t cheap, let me tell you. My grandson said some of them cost hundreds of dollars! Hundreds! That’s more than I spend on groceries in a month!
But I guess if you’re a real fan of this Astarion fella, and you gotta have everythin’ with his face on it, then you’ll probably go ahead and preorder. Me? I’d rather spend my money on somethin’ practical, like a good pair of work boots or a new chicken coop. But that’s just me. Different strokes for different folks, as they say.
My grandson, he’s thinkin’ about preordering one. Says he’s been savin’ his allowance. I told him he should be savin’ for college, but he just rolled his eyes. Kids these days, I tell ya! They just don’t listen. But I guess if it makes him happy, then it’s alright. Just as long as he doesn’t expect me to dust it!
Anyway, if you’re lookin’ for one of these Astarion figures, seems like you can find ’em all over the place, even on that eBay thing. Just be careful, you know? Don’t get ripped off. And make sure you know what you’re gettin’ into before you hand over your hard-earned cash. That’s my advice, anyway. Take it or leave it.
And if you do get one of those statues, make sure you put it somewhere safe. Wouldn’t want it gettin’ knocked over by the cat or somethin’. That would be a waste of good money, and nobody wants that, not even a stubborn old woman like me.
